Man Captured After Wild Chase Through Redding On Thursday Afternoon

A pursuit by multiple law enforcement agencies Thursday ended with the arrest of a domestic violence suspect. A “Be on the Lookout” had been issued earlier in the day for 33-year-old Daniel Keiser, who was reported to be armed and had made statements about “suicide by cop”. At around 3:30PM a Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted Keiser on Northbound Interstate 5 and pulled him over. After stopping briefly Keiser reportedly fled at over 100 miles an hour into the City of Redding, where the RPD joined the chase. Police say that during the pursuit Keiser drove on the shoulder, ran multiple red lights, drove in the oncoming lanes and several times tried to ram the pursuing officers’ vehicles. The chase ended when Keiser reportedly drove through the yard of a home, crashed through a fence and ran into a tree, then was captured after a brief foot chase. Police say they found multiple guns in the car, including two AR-15 style rifles, two loaded handguns, and several Thousand rounds of ammunition. Heiser was booked into jail on numerous charges.
