A Butte County Jury has agreed that a 58-year-old Oroville man is a cult leader who manipulated his followers into doing his bidding, which included submitting to rape and molestation. A 7-day trial has just concluded for Sansue Bee Vang, who founded his organization in Wisconsin before moving to Fresno and finally settling in Oroville, where he and his Hmong followers built a temple at the base of Table Mountain. Vang was revered as a prophet and dictated the rules adhered to by his devotees, comprised of several families. The six victims of his sexual assaults included adult women as well as young girls. Vang faces possible life in prison when he’s sentenced April 14th.
