HHSA Offers Free Service To Help Prevent Local Suicides

Shasta County’s suicide death rate is 25.2 per 100,000 people, which is 2.5 times the rate for California. Health and Human Services has created a new resource to help in suicide prevention efforts. It shares steps anyone can take to help those at risk of suicide. It can be found at youmattershasta.org. There’s also a national free confidential suicide and crisis lifeline available by calling 988 anytime from any phone.
