Man Who Stabbed Co-Worker At Chico Radio Station Faces 10 Years In Prison

A Chico radio station employee has pled no contest to attempted murder after stabbing a co-worker last June. Chico Police were dispatched to Results Radio on Manzanita Court. When they got there most of the staff had already fled the building but radio personality Tim Buc More, whose injuries were minor, was trapped on an enclosed rear patio. Officers breached the enclosure to free him. He refused medical attention. The suspect, 30-year-old Kevin Leeson, was still inside. His surrender was negotiated and he was taken into custody. Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey says the victim’s injury was minor because the end of the scissors were rounded and they did not break the skin. Leeson, who worked at the front desk, had arrived that morning and made a to-do list that included the items “Kill Tim” and “Kill Autumn”, referring to another co-worker. He later told police he thought the radio station was a front for a sex trafficking ring and that killing the victim would provide him closure for the abuse he experienced as a child. Before entering his plea, Leeson petitioned the court for mental health diversion but he was denied. He could get up to 10 years in prison when he’s sentenced March 25th. The cluster of radio stations includes Z-Rock, Thunder, Power and Bob.
