Two Teens Injured In T-Bone Crash On Highway 299

Two teenagers were badly hurt in a broadside collision in Trinity County Wednesday afternoon. Shortly before One O’clock a Toyota Prius was on Little Brown Creek Road and apparently did not stop at the stop sign at Highway 299. As it entered the highway the small car was T-boned by a 1999 Ford F-150 pickup. Both occupants of the Prius had to be extricated by rescue personnel and were taken to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. The 17-year-old male driver suffered a broken leg and broken ribs. The passenger, 18-year-old Gage Yacoub, was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered a major head injury. The pickup was driven by 53-year-old Spencer Barrow. He sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention. The CHP does not suspect drugs or alcohol of being involved.
