A Tehama County man has been sentenced for a weapons charge involving a gun he apparently had hoped for. A package addressed to Steven Lawrence William Burgard Jr was intercepted by Homeland Security Agents. It contained parts for converting a firearm into a machine gun. Investigators found instructions to do so on Burgard’s phone. He pled guilty to attempted possession of a machine gun and has been sentenced to 3 months in county jail and 2 years probation.
