Someone was found dead in a house fire in Shingletown Tuesday morning. Shortly after 8 O’clock CAL FIRE crews were sent to Eagle Lane in the Lake McCumber area. When they arrived they found a home fully involved in fire. It was completely destroyed. A deceased person was found in the wreckage, and the Coroner’s Office is working to confirm identification and notify next of kin. Because of the fatality, the interagency Shasta Arson Task Force is investigating, but so far the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
