RPD: Woman On Facetime Killed After Crash In East Redding

A woman died and her two children were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Victor and Hartnell Avenue on Wednesday afternoon according to Redding Police. About 2PM the woman, who has not been identified, had two children in the vehicle and was actively using Facetime on her cell phone. She failed to stop for the eastbound red light, colliding with the other vehicle, an orange Subaru driven by 41-year old Daniel Reed of Redding. The woman, who was also not wearing a seat belt, was ejected after her vehicle rolled over and she died from her injuries. The intersection was closed for about an hour.
