The Shasta County Office of Education has announced the selection of the 2026 Classified School Employees of the Year. They are:
● Clerical and Administrative Services: Deanna Barnes, Enterprise Elementary School District
● Custodial and Maintenance Services: Albert Macias, Millville Elementary School District
● Food and Nutrition Services: Gloria Shaw, Redding Elementary School District
● Health and Student Services: Vanessa Bennett, Shasta Union High School District
● Paraprofessional Services: Sandra Elejalde Astudillo, Redding Elementary School District
● Technical Services: Carson Barnes, Enterprise Elementary School District
● Transportation Services: Micah Metz, Millville Elementary School District
The Classified School Employees of the Year Program highlights contributions of classified school employees who support the education of California’s more than Six Million public school students from preschool through high school. From school bus drivers to cafeteria workers to instructional aide the Shasta County Teachers of the Year will be recognized at the annual Shasta County Office of Education Educator Appreciation Dinner this Spring.
