The first order of business for Redding’s new City Manager, William Tarbox, is to get the city back on a fiscally manageable track. During Tuesday’s City Council Meeting a plan was approved to spend up to $300,000 on a consultant to complete a city-wide efficiency study. Tarbox has promised to be aggressive in his plan to cut city spending. The consulting firm was chosen by Tarbox and was granted a no-bid contract that must be completed by the end of September. The review process will be overseen by Michael Webb, the Public Works Director who has been serving as interim Assistant City Manager.
