A public hearing will take place during Tuesday’s Shasta County Board of Supervisors Meeting concerning a large solar panel array planned for Southeastern Shasta County. More than 8,700 solar modules would be spread across 25 acres off Wilson Hill Road about 5 miles south of Highway 44. The location is next to an existing PG&E electrical distribution site. The Planning Commission granted a use permit in January, but an appeal was filed. Opponents cite potential environmental damage, including to wetlands, Oak Trees and various wildlife.
