There were some escaped control burns Monday in Shasta County. Crews responded late in the afternoon to Ashby Road for a fire that was contained at about three quarters of an acre. A fire burning in heavy timber off Summit Lake Road in the Big Bend area produced a lot of smoke before being stopped at around a half acre.
