Deputies Seek Leads After Discarded Animals Are Found In Plastic Bags In Corning

The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office is trying to figure out who’s been dumping dead livestock. On Sunday deputies were called to Loleta Road in Corning by someone reporting that they found multiple discarded animals in plastic bags. Deputies examined the remains and determined that they were not dogs, but rather small farm animals. Animal Regulation Officers joined the investigation, but due to the advanced decomposition of the carcasses they were unable to determine the origin or causes of death. There did not appear to be any obvious signs of animal cruelty. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office.
