The Shasta County Probation Department’s contractor, GEO Reentry Services, is hosting an open house to celebrate the 13th anniversary of their day reporting center. The facility is where probationers are required to be accountable by checking in for months of regular reporting, cognitive behavioral treatment, skill building, drug monitoring and stabilizing their essential needs. The goal is to reduce recidivism by getting people out of a criminal lifestyle and into regular employment or full-time school enrollment. Participants meet with a case manager and are subject to weekly drug testing. The open house is Thursday from 11AM to 2PM at 1415 Court Street in Redding.
