A homeless man has been arrested after allegedly being caught stealing from a county storage yard in South Redding. Sheriff’s Department Staff at the Jail Annex on Veterans Lane between Radio Lane and Breslauer Way noticed generators and water pumps were missing, with a total value of around $9,000. A Sergeant staked out the yard and at 3:15AM Sunday morning he saw 48-year-old Jason Albert Dabill riding by on a bicycle. He lost sight of him, and 10 minutes later the Sergeant spotted Dabill and allegedly found him in possession of items just stolen from the yard. He apparently confessed and led the Sergeant to his camp off Canyon Creek Road, where more stolen goods were found.
