A community forum will be held during Tuesday’s Shasta County Board of Supervisors meeting for the Sheriff to provide information about how his department cooperated with federal immigration authorities last year. The forum is legally required for any law enforcement agency in California that provides Immigration and Customs Enforcement with access to an individual. That generally means that after an arrest, the Sheriff’s Office notified ICE that they had someone in their custody with questionable immigration status, and possibly held that person until ICE Agents arrived to take custody.
