At Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, Simpson University President Norman Hall said Shasta County is well positioned to host a new medical school. His proposal would be for the med school to be established at the Simpson Campus with a student body of 150 students and 27 faculty. The cost is estimated at 100 to 300 Million Dollars. Doctor Hall asked the county for $10 Million seed money. The agenda did not allow the Board of Supervisors to commit any money during Tuesday’s meeting. Supervisors Allen Long and Matt Plummer said they wanted to see more comprehensive data.
