A pilot landed without landing gear at Red Bluff Airport Thursday morning, and then left in another plane. The single engine Beechcraft did a belly slide on the runway and Red Bluff Fire Department responded to be sure there was no danger of a fire starting. When they got there they learned that the pilot had abandoned the disabled aircraft on the runway and got into another airplane he owns that was parked there and flew away. He apparently later made a stop in Ukiah but it’s not known where he headed after that. The number on the Beechcraft shows it’s registered to Christopher McKay of Point Arena, according to an online database.
