There was a fatal crash Friday afternoon on the freeway in Tehama County. The CHP reported the crash between a black pickup truck and a white sedan on Southbound Interstate 5 near Finnell Avenue on the northern side of Corning. There were initial reports that a vehicle was going the wrong way on the southbound side, but very few details of the crash have been made available. Alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor. The southbound lanes were closed for a few hours, with traffic diverted to other routes.
