The officers quickly got in their patrol vehicles and gave chase but the car fled west on Bruce Drive and ran the stop sign at Emily Drive. The car was almost to Pinion Avenue when the driver reportedly made an illegal U-turn and drove straight at the officers. one of the officers avoided a collision by veering onto the shoulder but the second car was struck head-on. The officer sustained minor injuries. The driver of the suspect vehicle kept the accelerator pedal mashed down despite being stationary, burning rubber on the street and producing a lot of smoke. When the smoke cleared officers pulled 37-year-old Kayla Jean Sturges from the car. She was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries. In the car officers say they found 10 Grams of Methamphetamine and several Meth pipes.
