County Releases Results Of Investigation Into County Clerk’s Alleged Behavior

A report that alleges appointed County Clerk and Registrar of Voters Clint Curtis created a hostile work environment for his underlings was released by the Shasta County Office of Support Services Monday. The heavily redacted, 336 page report found similar findings to a report from an independent investigator. Among the allegations they found substantiated, Curtis engaged in campaign related calls during work hours, made several remarks and threats to employees, and created an unprofessional workplace environment including threatening to remove employees by pulling them by the hair, and forcibly removing doors from private offices if the employee did not comply. Several employees have filed complaints, prompting the report, which Curtis repeatedly calls unfounded, and denies the allegations. He has also threatened to file a lawsuit against the employees, and the independent firm Oppenheimer Investigations, which he claims are false. A copy of the full report is available at the County Administrative Office on Court Street for a fee of $55.70.
