Assemblywoman Hadwick Honors Ducks Unlimited As Non-Profit Of The Year

Ducks Unlimited is the District One non-profit of the year as selected by Assemblywoman Heather Hadwick. Every year members of the California Legislature have the opportunity to recognize a nonprofit whose work has made a lasting impact in their communities. Ducks Unlimited works alongside farmers‚ tribes‚ conservation groups‚ and public agencies to restore and protect critical wetland habitats throughout California and across the Pacific Flyway. Beyond habitat restoration, Ducks Unlimited also plays an important role in preserving North State traditions by supporting youth hunting opportunities shooting sports, and waterfowl conservation education. Among it’s most significant projects is the restoration of the Upper Klamath National Wildlife Refuge‚ currently the largest freshwater wetland restoration effort in the Western United States. This landmark project will provide critical habitat for migratory waterfowl while improving water quality, ecosystem health‚ and long-term environmental resilience throughout the region.
