RPD Plans DUI Checkpoint For Thursday Evening

Redding Police will conduct a DUI checkpoint somewhere in the city limits Thursday night from 5PM To 11PM. Locations are not announced ahead of time, but are determined based on data of impaired driving related crashes. The RPD says impaired driving is not just from alcohol, over the counter and prescription medications may also impair judgement. And while Marijuana may be legal, driving under it’s influence is not. Drivers charged with first time DUI face an average of $13,000 in fines and penalties, and a suspended drivers license.
