The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Health and Human Services, has conducted an underage tobacco sting operation. On Friday, the underage decoy working with deputies went into 24 retailers and attempted to purchase tobacco or nicotine products without an ID. The purchase was allowed at 4 of the stores. They were the Drive-in Market on Hill Boulevard in Shasta Lake City, Smoke Shop Plus on Main Street in Cottonwood, Comet’s Gas on Lake Boulevard in Redding and Comet’s Gas on Skycrest Way in Palo Cedro. The employees who made the sales were cited.
