Cal Fire/Shasta County Fire Crews responded overnight to a fire west of Redding. Located off Mountain Shadows Drive in the Centerville area, the “Mountain Fire” was reported shortly after 4 O’clock Tuesday morning. It was burning about one acre in dry grass with a slow rate of spread. Crews had forward progress stopped by 4:30AM.
Two structures were threatened by a small fire in the Red Bluff area Monday afternoon. The “Ranchero Fire” started a little before 4 O’clock off Ranchero Drive and Niche Drive. Aircraft, including a helicopter and a tanker, were dispatched but they were canceled as the fire was quickly contained at about a third of an acre.
A one acre fire was extinguished late Monday morning off Upland Drive in the Montague area of Siskiyou County.
