Preliminary counting from Tuesday’s election shows an early lead for veteran Shasta County elections official Joanna Francescut over appointed Registrar of Voters Clint Curtis. With a fraction of the total tabulated so far, Francescut has 56% over Curtis’s 44%.
In the Board of Supervisors District One Race, Erin Resner has 54%, well ahead of District One incumbent Kevin Crye with 39%. Richard Gallardo is trailing with 7%.
The incumbent is also behind in the District 5 race, with Mike Gallagher pulling ahead of Chris Kelstrom by 49% to 41%. Gary Oxley has 10% so far.
Measure B could go either way. Approval of the election reform initiative currently leads by 56% to 44%. With only a handful of ballots processed, all the contests are too early to call.
