There were several frightening fires Saturday in Shasta County.
The Clear Fire started started around 11:30AM Saturday to the north of Clear Creek Road about a half mile west of Highway 273. It burned 3 acres of heavy brush and trees.
Two separate fires started around 2:30PM Saturday afternoon. One was off Canyon Road and Redbank Road and the other was off Green Meadow Lane and Knighton Road west of the freeway. They both were stopped at about a quarter acre of brush and trees.
Homes were threatened by a fire that started shortly before 7 O’clock Saturday evening off Quartz Hill Road and Terra Nova Drive. It was stopped when it reached Quartz Hill Road after burning about 2 acres of grass, brush and Oak woodland.
