Republican James Gallagher is the current District One Congressman until the end of the year. After that, Shasta County will be in District 2. The field of 8 District 2 candidates was dominated by incumbent Democrat Jared Huffman, who took 52%. In November he’ll appear on the ballot with Republican Robin Littau, who took 13%. The newly-drawn District One race will be between James Gallagher and Democrat Mike McGuire. Heather Hadwick and Dianna Margaret James will be on November’s ballot for the State Assembly District One.
