Officers Arrest Man For Murder After He Allegedly Confesses To Shooting In Red Bluff

Red Bluff Police say a man came to them and confessed to murder. Saturday afternoon a pickup truck left Highway 36 and Monroe Street and rolled over, coming to rest on its side. Officers got there a few minutes later and found a dead man in the truck. As the scene was being investigated, 29-year-old Andrew Winstead walked into the lobby of the police department and reportedly told dispatchers that he had shot someone and wanted to turn himself in. He was interviewed and detectives say he admitted shooting the man in the pickup, saying he knew him. Winstead was booked into jail for murder.
