A fire in Lassen County near the Shasta County Line has not grown beyond the perimeter mapped yesterday at 1,055 acres. A few zones still remain under evacuation warning. The “3-1 Pit Fire” is 35% contained.
Highway 96 remained closed Thursday north of Hoopa due to a fire that has now burned 87 acres in extremely steep and difficult-to-access terrain. No structures are threatened by the “Mile Post 16 Fire”, and crews made good progress Thursday as they achieved 50% containment.
