Crews are making significant progress on the Brook Fire burning east of Redding near Bella Vista. Control and hose lines are being strengthened as well as dozer lines and perimeter lines. All evacuation orders have been downgraded to warnings. The fire, which began on Saturday near Elk Trail and Highline Trail is now 45 percent contained at 502 acres. 513 personnel continue the fight and will continue mop up operations and work on remaining hot spots Tuesday. No other growth is expected, but areas of smoke will still be visible.
