Redding-area native and soccer legend Megan Rapinoe was on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” this week to promote her new podcast. The title of the broadcast is “Why Are You Like This?” and it’ll feature artists, athletes, and activists. It begins Thursday, August 6th with new episodes being presented every Thursday. During her appearance on “The Daily Show”, Rapinoe said her dream guests include New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, basketball player Jalen Brunson, and Michelle Obama. About her soccer playing days, Rapinoe said she never wants to play again and knows she can’t. Se is a two-time World Cup Champion, an Olympic Gold Medalist, and the first soccer player to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She retired from the sport in 2023.
