A fire in the far southeast corner of Lassen County is starting to come under control. The “Bug Fire” started Saturday afternoon south of Hallelujah Junction. It’s over 91,125 acres, but it’s now 31% contained. There are a number of evacuation orders for both sides of the state line. Highway 395 is closed.
More evacuations have been ordered for the MP 18 Fire north of Hoopa, which has burned 4,607 acres in steep terrain. Containment has been reduced to 5%. Highway 96 remains closed.
