A Redding man has been convicted in a jury trial after trying to get away from Redding Police on his bicycle last year. On the night of October 30th an RPD Officer tried to stop 39-year-old Travis Devan Church in a grocery store parking lot for riding his bike with no lights. Church tried to flee but was eventually caught and found to be in possession of drugs and other illegal items. Officers reviewed a nearby surveillance camera and saw that, while he was being chased, Church had thrown something into a trash can, which turned out to be a loaded gun. Last week church was found guilty of several charges.
