Several fires broke out in Modoc County Monday afternoon. The Mountain Fire burned 25 acres of grass and juniper southwest of South Mountain Reservoir. Multiple air resources helped ground crews establish a line around the perimeter. The 4-1 Fire near the Russell Slough has burned 470 acres and is 5% contained. The Flat Fire near the Devil’s Garden Conservation Camp burned about 48 acres, and is surrounded by dozer line. Multiple other smaller fires burned near the Big Sage Reservoir and the Dead Horse Reservoir.
