Someone was run over and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Southwest Cottonwood early Thursday morning. At 4:19AM the CHP got reports that an unidentified male was sitting or laying in the roadway on westbound Bowman Road east of Amen Lane near the train tracks. About 15 minutes after the first call, someone reported that the person had been run over and suffered a fatal traumatic head injury. The driver continued westbound without stopping. It was apparently a pickup truck, possibly a white Dodge. Anyone with information, or who lives nearby and has surveillance cameras, is asked to call the Red Bluff Area CHP Office at 737-6746.
