Free prostate screening is offered Thursday at the new Sierra Pacific Regional Cancer Center. The facility just opened next to Nur-Pon Ppen Space off Hartnell south of the Cypress Avenue Bridge. September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. It’s the second leading cause of cancer deaths for men in the United States, diagnosed for 1 in 8 men in their lifetime. The free screening is hosted by Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center and will take place a starting at 6 O’clock Thursday evening. Patients must pre-register by calling (530) 225-7478.
