Two prescribed burns are planned for Shasta County this week. The Miller Demonstration Forest is located in the Whitmore area. Monday and Tuesday Cal Fire plans to burn 225 acres of grass and Oak woodland, and eliminate dead and downed trees south of Whitmore Road and west of South Cow Creek Road. On Thursday and Friday Cal Fire is planning to resume the Lower Gas Point Vegetation Management Project. A prescribed burn will be done on 250 acres of invasive grasses and brush, along with dead and downed trees west of Lower Gas Point Road and north of Gas Point School Road.
