Homeless Man Sentenced For 2020 Arson Fire At Red Bluff City Park

A homeless man in Red Bluff has been sentenced for causing some expensive damage to city property. In the middle of the night March 31st of 2020, Red Bluff Fire and Police were sent to the City Park, where they found a couch engulfed in flames near the amphitheater. The fire had spread to a storage shed and firefighters quickly extinguished it. Damage was estimated at $20,000. Red Bluff Fire Department Arson Investigators found video surveillance showing the fire being started, and witnesses identified him as 41-year-old Wesley Marchello Reed. When police confronted him about the fire, he knew details that hadn’t been publicly released. Reed has been sentenced to 4 years 8 months in state prison.
