Crews Get A Good Jump On New Lightning Sparked Fires In The Klamath National Forest

A lot of lightning struck some mostly remote southern areas of the Klamath National Forest over the weekend but crews have gotten a good jump on those dozen or so starts. Meanwhile crews continue to close in on the more established lightning fires.

The 32,320 acre Happy Camp Complex is 70% contained after destroying 9 structures and killing one civilian.

The Pearch Fire east of Orleans has burned about 7,665 acres with 8% containment.

The Blue Creek 2 and Marlow Fires near the East Fork of Blue Creek are being managed together and have burned more than 11,072 acres with no containment.

The Smith River Complex in Del Norte County has burned about 92,150 acres but crews have achieved overall containment of 65%.
