RPD: Impaired Driver Crashes Into Building Days After DUI Arrest

Police say a driver was on drugs when he ran his car into a South Market Street business Monday. At 10:40AM a Mazda 3 was southbound when it left the road and collided with a fire hydrant, a fence and two unoccupied vehicles before crashing into the side of Wonderland Signs. 43-year-old Jordan Wheeler of Anderson was taken to a hospital for a complaint of pain. Officers say Wheeler showed signs of impairment. Wheeler had been arrested for impaired driving on Friday and his car was impounded. He had just gotten it out of the impound yard an hour before Monday’s crash.
