Christmas Tree Permits Are Now Available For Area National Forests

Christmas tree permits are on sale for Shasta-Trinity National Forest and Lassen National Forest. The Lassen permits can not be purchased through Shasta-Trinity Headquarters nor can they be purchased online. A permit order form can be printed from their website and mailed in, or permits can be purchased at Lassen National Forest Offices and some retail stores listed online. Permits for the Shasta-Trinity can be purchased at recreation.gov or by mail from several ranger stations or at some outdoor supply stores and other retail locations listed online. The cost is $10, and this year there’s a one tree per household limit. 4th grade students are eligible for a free permit under the “Every Kid in a Park” Program. Details are at Forest Service offices.
