Former Sheriff and long-absent Assistant County Executive Officer Eric Magrini is working as a realtor while on paid leave from his job with the county. That’s according to an article in the Redding Record Searchlight, which fought a long court battle with the county to acquire documents concerning Magrini. He had been Sheriff but quit after the Deputy Sheriff’s Association and an organization of Captains and Lieutenants cast votes no-confidence. He was simultaneously given a large raise with the newly created position of Assistant CEO. Apparently Magrini went on leave last Spring for reasons that are unclear, but still collects a salary. The article says he applied for Worker’s Compensation last March, the same month he got his real estate license. He’s listed as an agent for Josh Barker Real Estate.
