A Redding man who brought enduring pain and suffering to his young victims will never walk free again after being sentenced to more than 817 years-to-life in state prison. In April a Shasta County Jury found 55-year-old William John Mattea guilty of 86 child sexual assault related charges involving two victims starting when they were just 5-years-old. One of Mattea’s victim’s made a statement in court at his sentencing on Friday, saying “This trauma and abuse does not end in this courtroom for me.This is something that will follow me in life forever, it will always be a part of me.”
