RPD: Suspicious Activity Near ATM Leads To 3 Arrests In Downtown Redding

Although their intentions were unclear, three people were arrested very early Monday morning in the parking lot of a Downtown Redding bank. At 2:39AM Redding Police were called to the Bank of America at East and Placer Streets on a report of a man wearing a full face mask and gloves tampering with the ATM’s. When officers got there the man was in a car with two other people and reportedly tried to flee but was blocked in by patrol cars. A rifle was seen next to the backseat passenger, 27-year-old Christopher Cook, who’s on parole. All three people were removed from the car. The driver, 37-year-old Michael Davis, was wearing rifle-rated body armor under his shirt and a handgun was found under his seat. Front seat passenger 37-year-old Patsy Elsey was reportedly in possession of Methamphetamine and claimed possession of the guns. All three were booked into jail.
