A lengthy investigation has led to the arrest of a Redding man on weapons and child pornography charges. A cyber tip from the FBI in April eventually led Redding Police Detectives to 50-year-old Mathew Lawrence Olkowski, a local nurse. A search warrant was served at his home in July and many guns and electronic devices were seized. Police say the firearms included illegal assault rifles, “ghost guns” and suppressors. An analysis of the electronic devices allegedly showed that Olkowski had been viewing child sexual abuse materials. Wednesday he was booked into jail on a half million dollars bail.
