A convicted felon is back in jail following a traffic stop in Redding. On Tuesday at about 1:34PM detectives with the Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force and AB109 Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Caterpillar Way and Recreation Trail. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 49-year-old Stanley Eugene Stroud of Redding. During a consent search of the vehicle, approximately 426 Grams of Methamphetamine, 6 Grams of suspected Cocaine and $6,190.00 in US currency was located. Stroud has several prior narcotics convictions and is Prop-36 eligible.Stroud is also on a mental health diversion related to several other prior, narcotics related, cases. SINTF Detectives placed Stroud under arrest, and he was booked into the Shasta County Jail on charges of possessing a controlled substance with prior conviction, possessing a controlled substance for sale, possession or purchase for sale of narcotics/controlled substance, and transport of a controlled substance. Stroud’s bail is set at $25,000.
