14-Year-Old Arrested After Shooting At Apartment Complex In Corning

A young teenager has been arrested by Corning Police on charges of opening fire at the apartment of a 44-year-old woman. At 11:39PM Friday night officers were called to the Spring Mountain Apartments on Edith Avenue after multiple shots were fired within the complex. Numerous spent rounds were found on the sidewalk and officers were told that two juveniles were seen running away. A few hours later Chico Police called the Corning PD and said they had obtained the gun from a relative of the shooter but the shooter had not been found. Monday afternoon Corning Police had gathered enough information to identify the suspect as a 14-year-old boy. He was found and arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall.
