A newly created event will kick off Redding Rodeo festivities this year. The Steak Feed is a thing of the past, replaced this year by a “Launch Party”. The family-friendly event will be in the Rodeo Arena on May 9th, featuring Tri-Tip sandwiches, live music, line dancing and the ever popular mutton busting event. That will involve 150 kids between the ages of 5 and 7 riding Sheep competitively. Some of those kids will get to compete in the actual Rodeo May 13th through the 16th. Sign ups will be accepted online Wednesday (4/1) at 9am at reddingrodeo.com.
