Highway 99 in Tehama County was blocked Tuesday morning by a 3 vehicle collision that killed one person. It was a little north of Julia’s Fruit Stand in the Dairyville area. Just after 10AM a big rig struck a Kia sedan, which overturned and then struck a Toyota Sequoia. The semi ended up in a roadside orchard. The Kia was ripped nearly in half and the driver was declared dead at the scene. Chainsaws had to be used to free the truck from the trees, and the highway remained blocked for hours with traffic backed up for several miles.
